Welder
Job Summary:
- The Welder will weld, cut, and braze metal pieces and products by using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
- Read and understand prints to weld pieces together accordingly.
- Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.
- Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
- Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
- Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
- Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repair.
- Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models and blueprints.
- Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
- Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers and team members.
Experience:
- Prior experience is preferred and must be able to pass in-house welding test.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to weld components that are vertical or flat.
- Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
- Must be able to see details at close range.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
Machine Fabricator
Job Summary:
- The Machine Fabricator will perform assembly work of parts manufactured by machinist to fabricate welding equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Inspects machines for proper function.
- Identifies mechanical problems.
- Examines critical parts and systems using a standard checklist.
- Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts
- Plans and establishes timetable to complete repairs and maintenance.
- Test machines to confirm safe and proper operation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive mechanical knowledge.
- Excellent mechanical repair skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read prints and service/ repair manuals.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers and team members.
Experience:
- Prior mechanical experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
